I would like to freshen it up but have no real experience doing anything like that So I have a couple question. The wraps are all in good condition with the exception that they look dry and uncoated. What can I do to recoat them so as to prevent any further degrading of them. You can see the wrap just forward of the grip in the below picture. They are all in this condition. Pretty good. Now this picture also has a veiw of the cork in it. Is there something that can be put on the cork, to firm it up and make it more sturdy.
Actually I wonder if this reel seat and cork are original to the rod.

It seems sloppily put on. The cork where the real seat butts against it is not even centered. its off center.

I had a hard time putting the Martin reel on it which had a real low height foot. It didn't seem like it wanted to slide under the turndown ring very nice. It doesnt have much of an angle to it and it was near impossible to get my Heddon 310 under it. The turndown ring wanted to cant itself at angle and would practically cross thread itself. Would this be a good project rod for me to replace the seat and handle with a bit better quality one. Also there are some scuffs on the fiberglass, here and there, What can I remove them with without damaging the firberglass.
Any comments or help would be appreciated. I am off work due to a disc fusion surgery and have time for a small project like this.
