I believe it to be a Phillipson made rod from the period after Bill Phillipson bought the company back. White glass with a spiral wrap in the blank. The components seem to match Phillipson products of that period. This rod has a similar action to the other 8' Phillipson I have, but has one less guide in the upper section. Casts a Rio Grande 6wt and all the 7's with what I would call a medium action.

Master Guide Posts: 2603 (11/29/09 11:23:22) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Nice rod, I havent seen that combination before either, must have been an early Phillipson LL Bean rod, I have a much later Spin Fly 7ft pack rod with the later tip over butt glass ferrules and typical Phillipson/Orvis yellow buckskin tan basic blank color, very nice find, Ive seen that same wrap in a couple of similiar Phillipsons wrapped as custom built for Speciality fly shops, but the what appears to be chromed or NS nose cap I havent seen before. Also the absense of a hook keeper is unusual for this period. Richard
