Well, I guess you could call this my "introductory post", but I have lurked here for a while. I must admit I am in admiration of a lot of your folks
work. Beautiful, I would call it. Anyways, enough gushing from me.
I just picked up this "blank" last night. The only thing I could tell about the blank is that it was made by phillipson.
Now, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could pick-up a yellow agate stripping guide. Mostly because I want it to match to blank. But I have looked high and low and can't seem to find one.
My next question, which is more of a statement, tell me about this rod. Like I stated in my above post, the blank is yellow, and looks to be made by phillipson. The only reason I think I can tell it was made by Philipson was because of the joint. Here are some pictures of the blank. It does come with the reel seat, but I think I am going to call Orvis and see if I can't get a dual sliding band seat. Any ideas on which color wraps I should do for this build?
Also, aside from owing a Scott F series, which I sold, I need some ideas for a reel which would match this rod. I was thinking of a pridex, and something along those lines. Thanks for any help guys, and I apologize for this post being all over the place, I am giddy about getting this blank. It is one of many winter projects, but this is the one I am most excited about.
