Mike; I'm waiting for the answer also. I would like to see the spacing from the old diamondglass; I've got a program i use but I like ole Davy

Tip section - measurements from the tip: 5 1/2", 11 3/4", 18", 25 3/4", 33 1/4", 41"
Butt section - measurements from the tip of the ferrule: 3 1/8", 11 1/2", 21 3/8" The rod information appears to be either silk screened or digitally printed in white ink on a layer of clear tape. The tape is covered with epoxy finish. Under a strong magnifier, the printing is pixelated. Tom |

thanks a lot guys (rick, doug, and tom).
sorry to ask a stupid question tom, but it sounds to me like you're saying that you can find the proper placement on the blank itself. what crazy rod building voodoo is this? |

I suggest getting a catalog from Hook & Hackle Company. It is a fine source of rod parts and also has a chart of guide spacings for most rod lengths. I
used their suggested spacings on my own 8' 4 wt. Diamondglass blank and they work well.

Mike,
I measured off a factory 8 foot, 4 weight Dglass. I aligned the end of the tape measure with the end of the tip top sleeve. The measurements are to the center of the snake guide loop, or to the ring of the stripping guide. My second paragraph was not too clear. Oops. I was talking the rod label, i.e., the name, model, and brand of the rod where it says Diamondglass. I added that after the discussion in another thread about there not being any decals with the rod blanks. Tom |

no worries tom. i've been running a fever since wednesday and i'm a bit slower than usual. thanks for clarifying. last night the fever finally broke.
the great thing about feeling totally rotten for days is how grateful you are for health afterward. i don't feel really well today and i've still got a
very productive cough, but without the fever, throbbing headache, and all-over aches, i finally feel like i'm human again. i guess sickness is important to
help one maintain perspective. anyway,
thanks again for the input everyone! -mike |
