Found this at a garage sale today Daiwa 3047 sticker still on grips with South Bend auto. It has Cortland level 7 weight it had a popper dropper rig attached
so I had it at the lake minutes after the buy. It cast pretty dang good it's a heavy 9 footer that the oren o matic can't quite balance out. I got a
big ol Duncan Briggs coming from ebay that might do the trick with some wf8 this might be a good bass stick for 5 bucks!

Those old daiwas don't get a lot of respect do they. I've got an old 8 footer from a flea market and I really like the way it casts.I had to pay 3
times what you did though.

I missed the five bucks part until Stonefly's post. Pretty good with an auto reel and level line. Indeed, Daiwa had some very capable rods over the years.
That one--I'd want to use that reel right on as well as the new one--should be fun with some traditional style bass bugs and poppers. The reel looks about
like new, too. Time warp matched outfit.

Daiwa still roll blanks in Scotland (go figure) and I assume elsewhere, all carbon nowadays here, but all I see this side if the pond of their old glass has
nasty foam grips.
